See two very different sides of Delhi in one day, from the lanes and markets of the old city to the monuments, gardens and avenues of New Delhi.
7-8 Hours
No limit
Private, Customisable

Delhi isn’t one city that can neatly be understood through a list of monuments.
Start in Old Delhi, where centuries of history sit alongside busy markets, places of worship, food stalls and everyday neighbourhood life. Walk through Chandni Chowk, experience the Spice Market, travel by rickshaw and discover some of the stories behind this part of the city.
Then experience a very different Delhi.
New Delhi brings broad avenues, gardens, government buildings, stepwells and monuments from different periods of the city’s history. Depending on what interests you, your afternoon could take you to places such as India Gate, Humayun’s Tomb, Qutub Minar, Lodhi Garden, Agrasen ki Baoli or Lutyens’ Delhi.
It’s your day, so we don’t expect every traveller to follow exactly the same route.
We’ll help you decide what is realistic within your available time and shape the tour around what you’d most like to experience.
Prefer to plan with us first?
Have questions, want to make changes, or combine this tour with another experience? Tell us about your plans and we’ll help you work out the details.
This experience can also be customised around your interests and available time.
This is a sample rather than a fixed checklist. Your final route will depend on your interests, available time, traffic, opening days and the places you’d most like to visit.
We’ll pick you up from your hotel or the airport in Delhi and begin the day with your private local guide and driver.
Spend approximately three hours experiencing the old city.
Your route can include:
Chandni Chowk
Walk through one of Delhi’s best-known historic market areas.
Spice Market
Experience the sights, smells and activity of Delhi’s historic spice market.
Rickshaw Ride
Travel through Old Delhi’s busy streets by rickshaw.
Sikh Temple & Community Kitchen
Visit a Gurudwara, learn about Sikh traditions and see how langar, the community kitchen, works.
Depending on the route and your interests, your guide can also introduce you to other streets, markets and places around Old Delhi.
Stop for lunch or a chai before continuing into New Delhi.
Lunch isn’t included, so you’re free to choose where you’d like to eat. Your guide can recommend places according to your preferences.
This part of your day is deliberately flexible.
Depending on your interests and available time, you could explore:
India Gate
Agrasen ki Baoli
Lodhi Garden
Humayun’s Tomb
Qutub Minar
Connaught Place
Lutyens’ Delhi
Rather than racing between every attraction, we’ll help you choose the places that make sense for you.
At the end of your tour, your driver will take you back to your hotel or agreed drop-off point.
Want to change the itinerary?
Tell us whether you’re interested in history, food, photography, markets, architecture, religion, local life or simply seeing the major sights. We can adjust the day around you.
Old Delhi is best experienced partly on foot. Wear comfortable footwear and let us know if anyone in your group has mobility concerns.
Delhi summers can be extremely hot, while December and January mornings can be cold. Check the forecast and dress accordingly.
We can adapt many parts of the day, but Old Delhi isn't fully wheelchair accessible. Tell us about any accessibility requirements before booking and we'll help plan the most suitable route.
Some Delhi attractions close on particular days. We'll take this into account when planning your itinerary.
Modest clothing may be required at places of worship. Shoes are removed and heads may need to be covered at Sikh temples. Your guide will explain what to expect.
Carry a copy or digital version of your passport/ID while travelling, while keeping the original safely at your hotel. NRI residents should carry their OCI card as well.

Want something different?
Combine this experience with another Delhi or Agra tour or create a completely custom itinerary.
Yes. The tour usually combines Old Delhi with selected parts of New Delhi, but the exact itinerary can be adjusted around your interests and available time. Tell us what you’d particularly like to see when booking.
Probably not, and we don’t recommend trying to.
Delhi is a large city and travel times, traffic and time spent at individual monuments all affect what can realistically be covered. We’ll help you prioritise the places that interest you most rather than rushing through a checklist.
If you’re unsure, tell us what you’re interested in and we’ll help you choose.
No. Monument entrance tickets aren’t included because your itinerary is customised and the attractions you choose may have different entrance fees.
No. This gives you flexibility over where and what you’d like to eat. Your guide can recommend places according to your preferences.
Some Delhi attractions close on particular days, especially Mondays. For example, the Red Fort, National Museum and Gandhi Smriti are closed on Mondays. Opening days and hours can change, so we’ll plan your itinerary around the attractions available on your travel date.
