The Delhi by Locals team is comprised of a motivated, inquisitive, and bright team of guides from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. One of our guiding tenets is the importance of giving back, and as a result we’ve hired young and dedicated locals that feel just as passionately as we do about both showing people this wonderful city we live in and simultaneously working to improve our communities. Beyond our regular guides, we have a dedicated staff of freelancers, drivers, and other part time workers that share our core values. And finally, Delhi by Locals has friends and supporters from all over the world that believe in what we do and strive to help in any way they can.

ABOUT PRADEEP
“My love for travelling and my love for showing my city to people motivated me to start Delhi by Locals”
Pradeep is the leader of our team and has been described as a “bright light”, inspired by all that Delhi has to offer and a love of sharing his city with travelers from around the world. Learning and giving back have been a part of Pradeep’s life ever since he was given the opportunity as a teenager to study English at a non-profit, where he now mentors students and teaches English and computer skills. Through his work with organisations including Manzil and Adhyayan, he has met other motivated young people who believe in the power of education as a tool to build leadership and break the cycle of poverty for marginalized populations. This strong connection to his students inspires Pradeep’s work and mission.

He loves learning and takes every opportunity he can get to give back to the community. His love for Delhi stems from the fact that he was born and brought up here. His friends and families are here. He wants to show Delhi to the world because he believes that one mustn’t just come to Delhi to see its monuments; one must come here to experience the rich varieties of food, colour, people, festivals and cultures.
ABOUT GAURAV
“Delhi is a mix of different foods and people in one place.”
Gaurav is a guy who you can always count on to get the job done. He is a logical, insightful member of our team who strives to ensure our guests are happy. His most remarkable trait is that he never says no to food! Gaurav is from Uttarakhand, or the land of God, where all the mountains and rivers come together. He is proud to say that he is from Uttarakhand. His love for travel and his eagerness to meet people and to learn about new countries and cultures led him to tourism business, and we’re lucky to have him as part of our family. He recently finished his Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature from the University of Delhi. Apart from food and travel, his two other loves
are playing soccer and cricket. He believes that as a guide, he can explore things that he can’t in other jobs because every day of work involves learning about new people and their countries. His dream is to go to Manchester to watch a Manchester United soccer match!
ABOUT ANJALI
“Delhi is big, loud and beautiful. It’s a crazy rush. Everyone is someone.”
Anjali brings a ton of energy to our team. She is creative, always eager to learn and loves to talk, and works constantly to brainstorm innovative and new ideas for our tours and programs. Her love for exploring new things led her to join us here at Delhi by Locals. She is a proud “pahaadi,” or one from the mountains, and is currently pursuing her undergraduate degree in tourism. She loves reading, spending time with her family and listening to other people’s stories.
ABOUT SALMAN
“I love Delhi and consider myself fortunate to be born in this city, and I am very proud that I was born in India.”
Salman is the storyteller of our team, and loves discussing the history of our country and city. He is passionate about being a tour guide because he takes great pride in making people feel welcome in the city he calls home. For him, there is no more fulfilling pursuit than sharing his love for Delhi with others. Salman is always excited to meet people from different countries and cultures, and loves when our guests share experiences and stories from their homes with him.
ABOUT UBAID
“I love to wander around Delhi, anytime and anywhere.”
Ubaid is our resident comedian, and we can always count on him to use his humor to liven up any situation. Apart from his repertoire of jokes, he also brings food, fun and lots of questions to the team, as he is curious and inquisitive by nature. Part of a family that has lived in Delhi for four generations, he is the definition of a Delhi local. Ubaid is passionate about his community and wants to show people the real Delhi through the eyes of a Delhiite. He is currently pursuing his undergraduate degree in tourism. In his spare time he loves to explore the city, travel and listen to music. music.
ABOUT NEERAJ
“I want to show people the reality of India. Its diversity, culture, religions and all.”
Neeraj is a crucial part of our team because he is always ready to work hard. He is knowledgeable, flexible, curious and currently learning Mandarin! He loves to engage with different people and to share his thoughts and knowledge about Delhi and India. His love for travel and exploration led him to Delhi by Locals, and his skills and passion are valuable assets. Born and raised in Delhi, he is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Political Science. He loves to play chess and listen to music in his free time.
ABOUT ANNANYA
“Delhi is an intricate mix of people and experiences that you can’t find anywhere else in the world.”
While we show Delhi to you, Annanya is the one that shows Delhi by Locals to all of you. She is the youngest member of our team. She helps us with the marketing and content creation for our website. She has lived in Bombay for most of her life, and moved to Delhi to pursue her Bachelor’s degree in Economics. Her love for English and the urge to try something new, led her to teaching English in Manzil. She soon joined Delhi by Locals as she loves travelling and documenting her experiences through pictures and writing (and also because she can’t resist correcting all of our incorrect grammar). She is new to the tourism industry and is learning a lot about it with us.
She loves music, books, trekking, travelling and writing. According to her, a tour like ours is perfect to learn everything one can about the city: The history, the culture which is a blend of so many others, the languages, the food, the people and the chaos that holds it all together. She believes that Delhi is all about learning and experiencing new things.
